Do I have to get a shot?

"We’ve got technology now [Icon, DMG America] that with no shot, no drilling, we can make the white spots go away. In the past, we would put composite fillings over it. We’d have to get the patient numb, drill it away, put the filling on. Or in real extensive cases, we’re veneering over the entire tooth…. We can do it now with no drilling and no needles in about 20 minutes,” “Once this resin is applied, it’s infiltrating into the enamel, and what you’re left with is a hybrid tooth scaffolding with a resin incorporated in it.” Quote by Dr. Connelly on the Dr Phil show.
I hate being numb, isn't there anything you can do that will stop it from lasting so long?

What is "Periodontal Disease"?
Periodontal disease is caused by the bacteria found in plaque is not regularly removed; it calcifies into a rough, porous deposit called calculus, or tartar. By products of bacterial metabolism irritate the gums, making them red, tender, swollen and more prone to bleeding. Eventually, the supporting bone structures begin to breakdown. The result of this slow process is gum recession, bone loss and eventually tooth loss. Bad breath often accompanies this condition. It is more important today than ever that even the mildest forms of gum disease to be treated. Research has shown that there is a direct line between gum disease, diabetes, Bacterial pneumonia, stroke and low birth weight in babies. If you have any signs of bleeding when brushing or flossing, loose teeth or bad breath, call today to schedule your initial screening appointment
What does periodontal treatment involve?
In the earlier states of gum disease (mild to moderate periodontitis), most treatment involves scaling and root planning. The procedure aims at removing plaque and calculus from the surface of the tooth adjacent to gum tissue, but more importantly it removes the pathologic bacteria under the gum that causes bone loss. Gum Disease is not reversible, but can be stopped. If you have any signs of bleeding when brushing or flossing, loose teeth or bad breath, call today to schedule your initial screening appointment.
In the majority of early gum disease cases, treatment entails improved home care techniques and scaling and root planning. Advanced cases may require surgical treatment.
What is the best way to prevent gum disease?

Conscientious removal of plaque by flossing, brushing and regular professional cleanings will minimize your risk of gum diseases. However, there are other factors that can affect the health of your gums, such as stress, diabetes, genetics and pregnancy.

What are my whitening options?
Our office offers In-office and supervised at-home whitening systems .Whiteners may not correct all types of discoloration. For example, yellow-ish hued teeth will probably bleach well, brownish-colored teeth may bleach less well, and grayish-hued teeth may not bleach well at all. Likewise, bleaching may not enhance your smile if you have had bonding or tooth-colored fillings placed in your front teeth. The whitener will not affect the color of these materials, and they will stand out in your newly whitened smile. In these cases, you may want to investigate other options, like porcelain veneers or dental bonding.
What financing options do you offer if dental insurance is not an option?
In many cases dental insurance will assist with any "needed" dentistry. In general, because of limits insurance companies place on dentistry, most people elect to pay their own fees. As a benefit to our guests, we provide Outside Financing such as Chase Health Advanced and Care Credit that makes comprehensive and cosmetic dentistry affordable to most anyone.
